Net Zero Energy Buildings are high performance buildings which utilize various design and systems strategies to reduce energy use coupled with onsite renewable energy systems to produce as much as, if not more, energy than the building uses over the course of a year. In this webinar learn how you can engineer a Net Zero Energy Building, the technologies and systems that are available for your project and how climate influences design. Engineers experienced with the Living Building Challenge will use examples from several projects to describe key steps to engineering Net Zero Energy buildings.
- Describe design and systems strategies for reducing energy use
- Identify renewable energy systems and when it is appropriate to use them
- Compare different strategies and projects that have achieved Net Zero Energy
- Understand how climate affects Net Zero Energy strategies
