The ToolBox Project (TBP) is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization tool library open to residents of Lane County, Oregon, whose mission is sharing home and garden tools to help neighbors transform their homes and build community.

The ToolBox Project launched a partnership in 2014 with theNeighborhood Economic Development Corporation (NEDCO)which helped get the organization off the ground. The Friendly Street Church of God’s congregation generously offered to donate space for TBP to build a site for the tool library and garden. The TBP building itself is a remarkable example of urban infill; designed by architecture students, built by volunteers, and sited in what once was a parking lot island, it features water wise landscaping, native plants, solar power, and demonstrates efficiency in a compact space.
