socially just, culturally rich, ecologically restorative
We are premised on the belief that providing a compelling vision for the future is a fundamental requirement for reconciling humanity’s relationship with the natural world.
The 2016-2020 provides a framework for us to grow the roots of our programs, widen our circle to reach new audiences, and strengthen the core of our organization.
2015 Annual Report
2015 marked a pivotal year for the International Living Future Institute. ILFI celebrated the 300th Living Building project registration, launched the Living Product Challenge and proved it’s commitment to a socially just world with the JUST labeling program and our first Equity Drafting Table events. Amanda Sturgeon moved toward becoming CEO as founder, Jason F. McLennan transitioned to board chair. Together, our programs, community and staff have come together to create a Living Future for all.
As an aligned chapter of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), we’ve been actively promoting and supporting LEED® since our founding in 1999, and we continue to do so by educating practitioners and defending the integrity of this extremely important and influential standard.
Cascadia is also a powerful network of sustainability practitioners pushing the boundaries in the bio-region through locally relevant programming. Our network advocates for progressive green building laws, regulations and incentives; and helps remove legal barriers to advanced green building practices in our region.
The Living Future Institute Australia (LFIA) was established in 2012 by a passionate founding committee as a visionary hub for restorative programs and action within Australia. The Australian Institute provides training, support, and design initiatives across four innovative international programs. Visit LFIA’s website and join the Living Future Institute Australia.
