Julie directs and produces the Institute’s live conferences and events. She manages everything from breakfasts to budgets and audio visual to registration services. Her personal mission is to create unparalleled networking hub and learning events that attract the brightest minds in sustainability and serve as a nexus point for advancing the critical path toward a living future.
Julie Tonroy is a native Oregonian who has been organizing events for more than 20 years. She is passionate about environmental, economic, and social justice. She holds a B.A. in Urban Studies and Planning from San Francisco State University. In her spare time, Julie volunteers on a master planning committee for Portland Public Schools. She enjoys hiking and camping in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, collecting mid-century kitsch, and spending time with her teenage son.
