Julie coordinates, directs and carries out the Institute’s live conferences and events. She manages everything from breakfasts to budgets and audio visual to registration services. Her personal mission is to create unparalleled networking and learning events that attract the brightest minds in sustainability and serve as a nexus point for advancing the critical path toward a living future.
Julie Tonroy is a native Oregonian who has been producing conferences and events for more than 20 years. She joins the Institute with a background working with non-profit organizations dedicated to environmental, economic, and social justice. She holds a B.A. in Urban Studies and Planning from San Francisco State University. In her free time, Julie enjoys camping, volunteering at her son’s school, collecting mid-century kitsch, and spending time with her family.
