Sunni has volunteered extensively on development projects with Engineers Without Borders USA, as the past co-President of the West Coast Steering Committee, and sitting Projects Committee Chair for the Seattle Puget Sound Professional Chapter, with programs in Uganda, Sierra Leone, and Nicaragua. She has also worked professionally as a development planner in Cambodia and Guatemala.

Sunni firmly believes that kindness is the highest form of intelligence.
