Holly Davies

Holly Davies is a senior toxicologist at the Washington State Department of Health. She previously worked for King Co and the Dept. of Ecology. Her work focuses on evaluating uses of toxic chemicals, including chemicals of emerging concern and persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic chemicals (PBTs), and identifying actions needed to protect human health and the environment with an emphasis on prevention and safer alternatives. She is a member of EPA’s Scientific Advisory Committee on Chemicals, which provides advice under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the National Academies of Science ad hoc committee on New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), and the Association for the Advancement of Alternatives Assessment (A4). Before joining the state her experience was in academic teaching and research in genetics and developmental biology. Holly received a B.S. in Biology from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.
