Lauren McNeill attended Michigan State University where she earned a bachelor’s in economics with a specialization in environmental economics and public policy. Throughout her education, Lauren focused on how natural capital valuation can help to make a business case for conservation & resiliency. The tremendous impact that the buildings have on the natural environment lead Lauren to explore a career in the sustainable building industry. Lauren now has over 12 years of experience with Group14 Engineering, PBC where she works as a Senior Sustainability Consultant.

Lauren’s experience includes management on over 100 LEED projects, two projects pursuing the Living Building Challenge, and a CORE project. Lauren is a LEED AP BD+C, Living Future Accredited, a WELL AP, and an Eco Districts AP. She is passionate about how buildings can enhance occupant health and wellbeing through material selection and biophilic design principles.

Sustainability is at the core of Group14’s work as well as our internal practices. Group14 is a certified Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) through the WBENC and a certified DBE, SBE, and WBE by the City and County of Denver. Lauren has helped to spearheaded Group14’s pursuit in becoming a B-Corp, a Just organization, and a Public Benefit Corporation. These certifications continually drive Group14 to positively impact our workforce, the environment, and our community. Lauren also participates in Group14’s JEDI committee.

Lauren has been an active supporter of the International Living Future Institute for over a decade. She was an Ambassador for the Colorado Living Building Challenge Collaborative where she worked to educate the Front Range about strategies for creating a healthy and resilient future for everyone. Lauren is the current sustainability project manager to three projects leveraging the ILFI rating systems: Aspen Distillery, a confidential private residence, and Northglenn City Hall.
