4940 BUILDING

OMAHA, NEBRASKA

Morrissey Engineering Inc’s 4940 Building was the first building in Nebraska to be awarded LEED Platinum certification, the highest level of certification achievable. The project site, in a suburban area, is located in the Roanoke Business Park, a compact development with shared public spaces and close proximity to many current and future planned services.

When the company began building its new headquarters, it was committed to designing a facility that was not only environmentally friendly, but also created an aesthetically pleasing and extremely functional environment that allows its staff of approximately 60 to be comfortable and highly productive. The site chosen was previously developed as part of a tree farm and is currently being redeveloped into a multi-use business park with a mix of office, retail, and restaurants with walking trails.

The 4940 Building is a single-story office building with a mechanical mezzanine/storage area. The 16,680-square-foot building houses the offices of Morrissey Engineering, Inc. The 4940 Building became fully occupied in fall of 2008. https://www.usgbc.org/projects/4940-building
