CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY MONTEREY BAY

California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) is located Monterey County. It occupies a total land area of +1,300 acres (main campus is +600 acres) and occupies the site and some buildings that originally functioned as the Fort Ord military base from 1917 until 1994. The University seeks to transform the campus into a “21st-century setting for teaching, learning, and research” and is currently undertaking a master plan update that incorporates the Living Community Challenge. CSUMB is the first university campus to register for the Living Community Challenge.
