Jason is a Partner at McCool Carlson Green in Anchorage, Alaska. He is a Virginia Tech Alumni and licensed Architect in Alaska, Washington and Hawaii who has been practicing for 13+ years, in addition to 6 previous years of work-study in the field of Sustainable Design. While studying, he worked in Germany; exclusively on low energy projects, which embodied design principles of Passive Haus, Net Zero and Cybernetics+Structure. He serves the community, both professionally and as volunteer through various non-profit organizations. He dedicates his work to the development of sustainable building practices; reconnecting indigenous design with modern innovations. He seeks solutions that are cost-effective, create healthy environments, are energy-efficient, with an overarching goal to eliminate negative environmental impacts, and build sustainable communities. Instead of simply doing less harm he is working to create a built environment that is socially just, culturally rich and ecologically restorative.

Current projects aim to be some of Alaska’s first net positive energy buildings with no combustion fuel source in a pursuit of the Living Building Challenge. He is driven by the daily challenge of living in the polar north; the front line of our rapidly changing environment.
