Kayla Hellal is the Marketing and Communications Manager at ILFI, where she supports the organization’s marketing and communications efforts. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Kayla grew up wandering the forest surrounding her childhood home, which fed her imagination and planted the seeds for a lifelong love of the natural world.

After obtaining her bachelor’s in Global Communications, Kayla spent the early part of her career working for a nonprofit in Tunisia, which will always be her second home. After returning to Wisconsin, she completed her master’s in Nonprofit Administration and Management while working remotely for an international nonprofit focused on engineering education, where she developed a passion for sustainable development.

When she isn’t on her computer working or writing, you can find her roaming the forests of Wisconsin, swimming in a lake (the few months it is warm enough to do so), or on the road to check another National Park off her bucket list. She is currently based in Milwaukee.
