Kristy M. Walson

Kristy M. Walson, PE, LEED Fellow, BEMP, is a mechanical engineer who focuses on decarbonization strategy and sustainable design within the built environment. For over 15 years, Kristy has provided consulting services in decarbonization strategy, sustainability, LEED facilitation, energy modeling, auditing, and commissioning for projects across the U.S. A graduate of Virginia Tech (BS) and the University of Michigan (MS), she specializes in decarbonization and electrification of new and existing buildings. Kristy has served in numerous volunteer roles, including on the MEP2040 Steering Committee, LEED’s Energy and Atmosphere TAG (where she’s the current chair) and many other positions within the industry. She is most energized by her the time she spends teaching our next generations about sustainability and their role in the many possible solutions to mitigating the impacts of climate change. Outside of work, Kristy enjoys yoga, paddle boarding, volleyball, hiking, rock climbing, and traveling with her family.
