How BIPOC Voices Transform Conventional Wisdom

Welcoming BIPOC students into the STEM fields supports a more equitable workforce and strengthens the connection between education and industry. By foregrounding marginalized voices we also broaden perspectives and dismantle barriers in order to fuel future innovation.

During the design process for the reimagined Vernier Science Center, Portland State University’s engagement of a BIPOC cohort shifted design outcomes in unexpected ways, with powerful results that will impact future campus projects. Join to learn how you can authentically engage BIPOC voices in your campus projects while integrating atypical design and program strategies necessary to support success.
