The Living Product Challenge 2.0 Standard

The Living Product Challenge 2.0 Standard contains seven performance categories, or Petals: Place, Water, Energy, Health and Happiness, Materials, Equity and Beauty. Petals are subdivided into a total of 20 Imperatives, each of which focuses on a specific sphere of influence.

LPC 2.0 Documentation Requirements

This document was compiled to provide a complete documentation requirements reference guide for manufacturers pursuing product certification under the Living Product Challenge 2.0. It should be used in conjunction with the Living Product Challenge standard as well as the Petal Handbooks, which contain recently approved clarifications and allowances that are not reflected in this document, in order to have a complete understanding of the program requirements and additional supporting information regarding achievement of each Imperative.

LPC 2.0 DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS + SITE AUDIT CHECKLIST

The LPC 2.0 Documentation Requirements Checklist can be used as a project planning template for manufacturers and their teams pursuing LPC to manage and organize progress toward completion of Imperatives and their respective Documentation Requirements with team members, including Site Audit-related documentation requirements, from initial charrettes through the end of certification and in preparation for annual check-ins. Please see the COVID-19 Impact to Program Requirements guidance for information related to changing documentation requirements and additional allowances and direct any additional questions to lpc.support@living-future.org.

Charette Facilitation

We want to help you find feasible solutions to achieve product certification. Charettes are kick-off meetings to help you define strategic goals to guide the team through the Living Product Certification process. We can review your product at critical points during the product development cycle such as during beta testing, manufacture retooling, supply chain innovation or wherever there is an opportunity to rethink the direction of a product and how it is made.

Product Design Guidance

Fine-tune your process to ensure that you’re on the path toward  Living Product Challenge compliance. We’ll work together in a private review with the manufacturer’s design or product development team 
to learn how the product accounts for each Imperative of the Living Product Challenge.
